“Shannon has a way of explaining an exercise that just makes sense”

“Pilates resolved my lower back problem. I feel great!”

Deb C.

“I tell my friends… I walk in a football player, and walk out a ballerina!””

M.K.

“It’s amazing how you work really hard and then feel totally relaxed after!”

Ellen

“I drive 45 minutes especially to go to the Pilates Den once a week. It is a highlight of my week because it is the time that I truly feel the doorway between my body and my mind is wide open and the two are acting in unison. I always leave with my body feeling better than when I arrived, and, more importantly, feeling so much better about myself.”

“I felt uncomfortable and self-conscious in a larger setting with more people. I especially like the individual attention that Shannon gives. When I walk in, the first question she asks is, “How are you feeling? Anything going on?” And, she listens intently to my answer. Then, she changes the entire routine planned for that day based on MY individual needs. There is no other time in my week that this happens!”

“I feel that I am getting more than Pilates- it is a physical therapy session as well. Shannon’s knowledge of Pilates as well as the human body and its’ conditions have helped me bounce back from Sciatica, IT Band issues, chronic neck pain, and I even feel that going off of anti-depressants has been due, in part, to my new found mind-body connection.”

“When I tell friends about the Pilates Den, I simply say, “I walk in a football player, and walk out a ballerina!”

“Shannon makes every session different so you’ll never get bored and it is always challenging – amazing!”

– Helen M.

“I love Pilates! I have always been active but I have finally found a workout that is rewarding both while you’re doing it and with the end result. After having 2 children, I never thought my abs would look flat and lean but after a year of classes with Shannon my whole torso has never been stronger or leaner.

“I look forward to my Wednesday Pilates appointment with Shannon. I am excited to go and always feel great afterwards.Shannon puts a lot of thought into that day’s program. She listens to my most current ailment and modifies the work out with those issues in mind. The lesson plans seem to build on each other week to week-keeping in mind my specific physical restrictions. She is contact with my physical therapist.Sometimes we talk several days before the lesson to see if there are certain movements that bothered my body at the last lesson. Shannon knows a lot about the body and how it works and notices weaknesses as well as strengths. Her studio space is open and fresh and she has all the equipment to mix up her lesson plans.I began with private lessons after an ACL repair and as I progressed Shannon talked with me about doing a semi private lesson every other week. This has worked out great. My partner is a good match for me personality wise as well as skill level plus she gives a different spin to the lesson.”

“It seems as though I have followed Shannon from job to job. I knew her at the Shelburne Athletic Club then Pilates Studio and now Pilates Den. To me that says a lot about her right there-because she is an incredible instructor-I go where she is! Shannon has always had a way of explaining an exercise or a Pilates move that makes sense to me. She talks about how it should feel-what body part it is working-and how to imagine it all together. She listens. She is upbeat and friendly.”

“I have always enjoyed Shannon as an instructor for her knowledge and just for who she is. If you are looking for a smaller group and a private space to learn or continue Pilates I would highly recommend that you meet with Shannon. You would not be disappointed!”
